It is always an honor being asked to photograph a wedding but to ask your favorite photographer to go to another state for a destination wedding ...that is even more priceless.  When I was invited to photograph a wedding in Vail Colorado my heart was filled with excitement and my creativity level was ready to explode!

What I love about destination weddings is how much new found creativity you find since everything is fresh to you. Whenever I have a destination bride coming here to New Orleans, I always photograph her event as if I was not a local photographer from here. I think capturing the surroundings within plain view at a unique angle allows you to shoot like a tourist but deliver images like a pro.  So whether I am capturing an event here in my hometown or you hire me to travel for a wedding, my creativity is always looking for something fun and original.  This image was just fabulous to capture.  The scenery is breath taking!

You can keep coming back to this post over the next few weeks because I also photographed this wedding with film. The scenery that Colorado offered us was simply too beautiful to not photograph with medium format and 35mm film. Therefore when my scans return from the lab I will be posting my faves to this blog post.  Once again the good Lord was very good to me with weather. Rain was in our forecast but what he gave us instead was a beautiful overcast day that allowed me to have the nicest tones to work with!
