I created a photo session downtown when each of our children turned 5 years old. I thought it would be cool to use New Orleans as my backdrop at around the same age for each of my kids. After the session we create a 6x6 book for the house. I started the tradition because I just wanted to freeze that wonderful age of 5. You know Elizabeth made sure their clothing was spot on so, the images were bound to be beautiful.
I love how a child sees the world differently than an adult does. The world is their playground so, why not play around the French Quarter? I'm so glad I created these sessions because they are unique. Julia, Ellie and Jack can look back when they are older and talk about the images in their books. Each of the kids have unique memories that they can hold onto themselves with daddy and that's the true gift of this photo shoot. I love how imperfect the images are....it's Jack being Jack! hahahaa :)
The tradition is also to have ice cream at the end of the session. You do have to keep them smiling somehow right!?
