Wedding photography has come along way in the two decades I have been in this industry. Something as simple as the details of the wedding has changed immensely. A lot of photographers still don't shoot these kinds of details but we make it a necessity on every wedding. We love to hear about what your color scheme is so we can find the right items to add and complement our imagery. If you have your paper from your invitations and mail outs I always love photographing them the day of the wedding in natural light. Now I do have some tricks up my sleeve as far as what do I bring on the wedding day to give me an advantage of making sure these kinds of detail images really shine. It's like any job I guess the more out-of-the-way you go the more in front of your competition you shall be. The above image was styled by Valerie Gernhauser of Sapphire Events in New Orleans. I absolutely love working with her and her team because the attention to detail throughout the entire day is ridiculously awesome.

I love my 100 mm true macro lens for images like the image above of the wedding rings. This was all natural light on some moss that I found out in the courtyard along the brick fence.

At times I find myself squinting with one eye to try and find a unique way of seeing my subject. This image of the grooms bouquet was literally taken moments before the church lady grabbed him to go inside the church before the bride showed up... And no this is not a creative crop, this is how the image was taken. 

 I'm going to conclude this post with the above image in my exclamation for it. You can always just throw the veil on something or hang it somewhere to showcase the veil by itself, but I would rather use my bride since it was made to elegantly drape over her body.
