New Orleans Bridal Pictures @ Race and Religious
I always have fun while photographing at Race & Religious. The venue resides on the corner of Race and Religious right by Mardi Gras World in downtown New Orleans. The gentleman who owns the building has pieces of furniture from Europe, Italy, and others to present the ambiance of his rooms. The outdoor section of the building is what all of us photographers have grown to love. The exposed brick, the doorways, and unique pool give the area character you don't see in any other building setups.
Michelle had one beautiful bridal session I cannot wait to share today! Whenever I go to the venue, Race and Religious, I always know my content will be creative and unique. I always like it when I go to a venue that I've been in there hundreds of times before and yet the client in front of me gives me imagery that I have never captured before. When you go to places you've been to so many times you truly have to train your eye to see like a tourist. What I mean by this is if you are new to an area you may recognize things in different areas that the locals may be overlooking. It's so easy to get comfortable and photograph the same way in the same place with the same poses that is absolutely not who I am as a photographic artist. My clients have the biggest smiles when they see how excited I get over imagery I'm super proud of creating with them. You need to go I knew would race and religious would offer me I was excited to see the results that Michelle and I conquered.
Now I say conquered because we both had an idea of what we wanted but how the session actually evolved could not have been planned.
For me, a bridal session is not just a handful of pictures of the bride and her dress. I have always seen this session to be a trial run of the wedding day. Can she sit in her dress? Can she bend in her dress? Does everything fit correctly or does anything need to be hemmed or let out? You would be surprised how many brides change their mind on their trial run of makeup, hairstyle, and even the dress will be altered in some way due to what happened during our portrait session. The one thing I always tell my brides Is how stress-free it is on your wedding day when these things that are brought to your attention about your dress or handled prior to your wedding day. Can you imagine getting a new dress for the first time, your make up, and your hair styled and you aren't 100% thrilled?? I cannot stand the stress and I have learned over my career that most stress is self-inflicted. You've always heard about how to be prepared but do we actually do it?
So for every bride who is thinking about whether or not they want to do a bridal session please keep the above in mind. The wedding day is in constant motion and stopping to adjust or fix something renders itself into the negative experience which I do not want you to have for every bride who is thinking about whether or not they want to do a bridal session please keep the above in mind. The wedding day is in constant motion and stopping to adjust or fix something renders itself into the negative experience which I do not want you to have!
Michele and Christopher got married last weekend and I cannot wait to show off images from their wedding soon. Michele's bridal session has been sitting in this post and waiting to be published and I am so excited to hit the button.
